Heather
Pre-Licensed Therapist | Individuals & Couples
You know the feeling: the same argument on repeat, the pattern you can’t quite name, the sense that you’re stuck in a version of your relationship or yourself that no longer fits. Heather helps people get underneath that. Not to assign blame, but to understand what’s actually happening and find a different way through.
How she works
Heather’s style is warm, direct, and deeply collaborative. She’s not interested in who’s “right,” but instead helps tap into what’s real. With individuals, that means exploring the relationships, boundaries, and identities that shape how you move through the world, and gently naming the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. With couples, it means slowing down the cycle long enough for both people to actually hear each other, often for the first time in a while.
Her approach is person-centred, integrative, and evidence-informed, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy, and influenced by leading thinkers on love and connection, including John and Julie Gottman, Esther Perel, and Stan Tatkin. Heather also brings formal training in mediation and conflict resolution, giving her a strong foundation for helping people navigate hard conversations without losing sight of what matters most.
What makes her different
Heather holds a PhD in Sociology. That means she doesn’t just look at what’s happening between you and your partner, or between you and yourself. She also considers the bigger picture: the histories, cultures, and social forces that shape how we relate. It’s a lens that brings depth, nuance, and curiosity to every session, along with a deep appreciation that no two people or relationships are the same.
What to expect
Genuine. Engaged. Zero judgment. Heather creates a space where you can say the hard thing out loud, get honest with yourself, and start building toward relationships and a life that actually feel like yours.
